Background on Bracket Range in $ Averages Table

These tables give the minimum (Min), average (Avg), maximum (Max) values of the bracket range in $ for the last 250 trading days, for 5, 10, 15 and 20 day overlays. For the last 250 trading days the tables ALSO give the 68% deviation (Dev) of the values about the average for 5, 10 ,15, and 20 day overlays. i.e. 68% of all the bracket range in $ values in the last 90 days are contained in the range: average-68%deviation to average+68%deviation. For the appropriate overlay (i.e. 5, 10, 15, 20 day): High Bracket Range in $ are values greater than 250 day average+68% deviation Low Bracket Range in $ are values lower than 250 day average-68% deviation Normal Bracket Range in $ are values between 250 day average-68%deviation and average+68%deviation Also in the table under the heading "B/T" is ratio of bracketing days to non-bracketing days, for 5, 10, 15, 20 day overlays. Also in the table under the heading "Brackets" are the minimum (Mi), average (Av), maximum (Mx) and 68%deviation (Dv) values for the number of days in an un-interrupted group of bracketing days, for the last 250 trading days, for 5, 10, 15, 20 day overlays i.e. a measure of how many days a bracket stays in bracket. Also in the table under the heading "Non-Brackets" are the minimum (Mi), average (Av), maximum (Mx) and 68%deviation (Dv) values for the number of days in an un-interrupted group of non-bracketing days, for the last 250 trading days, for 5, 10, 15, 20 day overlays i.e. a measure of how many days a non-bracket stays a non-bracket i.e how long an overlay takes to get back into being a bracket. Also in the table under the heading "Brackets" is the number (No) of un-interrupted groups of bracketing days, for the last 250 trading days, for 5, 10, 15, 20 day overlays. This is similar to the "B/T" ratio but multiple counting is removed. The tables are updated daily around 10pm. The leading deliveries are used for commodities. They are up-to-date for the latest day of trading. The use of this information in a trading strategy is covered elsewhere. Click here for Bracket Range Table
