Printing the book Value Based Power Trading by D.L.Jones
from the .GIF files in the file BOOK.ZIP
Go to the dos prompt (from Windows 95/98 is fine)
Type: md c:\vbptbook and press enter
Type: cd c:\vbptbook and press enter
If you have not downloaded the book.zip then:
Download the file book.zip (7.8 MBytes)
Save book.zip to the directory c:\vbptbook
The download takes about 20mins at 56K baud
If you dont have pkunzip.exe then:
Download pkunzip.exe
Save in c:\vbptbook
Type: cd c:\vbptbook and press enter
Type: pkunzip book.zip and press enter
Put paper in graphics printer
Power-on graphics printer and place online
Choose an option from the table below. FL works in most cases
Test the option works okay. For example for FL,
Type: cd c:\vbptbook and press enter
Type: printgfd.exe s_x01140.gif /QQ /C60 /L8,10,0,0 /FL and press enter
To print all pages of book,for example for FL option,
Type: cd c:\vbptbook and press enter
Type: printout.bat FL and press enter
When paper runs out, put more in - the printing will then resume okay
To abort printing a particular page press: ctrl B
To abort printing altogether, press ctrl B and ctrl break repeatedly
There are 260 pages in the book and so the total time to print the book is
about 45 mins at a printer speed of 10 secs per page.
